Buthaina is responsible for managing the EDB’s legal responsibilities and collaboratively delivering best practices in the strategic development and enhancement of the Kingdom’s regulatory system. Buthaina also directs the Kingdom’s legislative outreach to executive, regulatory and corporate bodies at a regional and international level. Buthaina previously worked as an International Projects lawyer at a private practice law firm based in London and had specialized in corporate acquisitions, Middle East regulatory, PPP and restructuring projects including large-scale international infrastructure development and energy projects. After living and working in London for 15 years Buthaina returned to Bahrain, following which she joined the EDB team. Buthaina also sits on the board of the Women in Fintech (WIFBH) initiative in Bahrain, a network of professional women with a purpose of raising awareness and opportunities within fintech.
